What is it like to work at Integrys?

As a Natural Gas Engineer I encounter a variety of different work environments; from design and planning in the office, to overseeing construction and assisting gas mechanics in the field. In addition, I love that everyday brings a new challenge or a new experience. At a company that strives for operational excellence, there is always a procedure to be reviewed or a new project ready for launch.

Did you get involved with any community relations projects (volunteer work) through Integrys?

One of my favorite parts of Integrys is the commitment employees have toward volunteering. Each subsidiary strives to make a difference in the communities they serve; focusing on safety, energy education, economic development, and many other areas. My volunteer experiences include time with Habitat for Humanity, natural gas safety presentations, and renewable energy demonstrations. Most recently, our site hosted a Boy Scout clinic to help local troops complete their electricity merit badge.

How does Integrys support growth and development?

At Integrys, employee training is not overlooked. I am currently participating in a one year Associate Engineer Training Program that is specific to natural gas. This program includes hands-on training in the field, introductions to other departments throughout the company, and a mentor portion where I work directly with an experienced gas engineer. Integrys also offers additional opportunities for development through a wide range of courses; including leadership, project management, communication and many more.

Name a few reasons why you decided to work for Integrys.

My internship at the WPS Weston Power Plant is what first inspired me to pursue a career in energy. The engineering team I worked on provided me with projects that were meaningful and challenging — allowing me to learn about power generation while also contributing to the group. Throughout my experience, I was amazed at the employee commitment toward teamwork, safety, and innovation. At Integrys, no matter what department or location you visit, the culture remains the same; you find talented, helpful, and motivated employees. After graduation, returning to Integrys was an easy choice.
