Dollars for Doers

Janet Wolfe, Manager of Corporate Communications for Upper Peninsula Power Company, has used Dollars for Doers over the years to make the most of her volunteer efforts. She donates her time as a lighting designer and light board operator for the Ontonagon Theater of Performing Arts in Ontonagon, Michigan.
Dollars for Doers multiplies the impact of employees' and retirees' personal volunteerism by two!
Dollars for Doers is a program of Wisconsin Public Service Foundation. This charitable foundation benefits areas served by Wisconsin Public Service, Upper Peninsula Power Company, Minnesota Energy Resources, Michigan Gas Utilities, Integrys Energy Services as well as the corporate offices of Integrys Energy Group.
Here's how the program works: Employees or retirees volunteer 20 or more hours of their own time to a qualifying organization. They let the foundation know, and the foundation makes a $100 contribution to that organization.
In 2007, 166 employees and retirees used the program to make the most of their 13,305 volunteer hours. As a result $16,600 went to more than 100 caring agencies.
