TEAM H.E.A.T.
North Shore Gas employees Marina McCawley, Sal Arana and John Holmes, along with their friend Diane Lange, were among the 32 volunteers who weatherized 31 homes in Waukegan and North Chicago in November 2007.
Every fall, employees from Peoples Gas, North Shore Gas and Wisconsin Public Service volunteer for Team H.E.A.T. (Home Energy Assistance Together). It's our community initiative to weatherize homes for limited-income customers. In 2007, employees, their family and friends helped nearly 150 families by:
- Sealing windows
- Installing energy-efficient light bulbs
- Installing carbon monoxide and smoke detectors
- Providing energy-efficiency and safety tips
Our hope is that with our help, these customers will have an easier time managing their winter heating bills and will be better prepared for a cozy winter.
