Some Minnesota Energy Resources Customers Face Potential Natural Gas Service Disconnection Soon

With the end of the Cold Weather Rule period on April 15, customers with unpaid balances could lose service

Rosemount, MN – Natural gas customers of Minnesota Energy Resources who have fallen behind on their natural gas bills and not made an attempt to catch up will face possible disconnection of service, according to company representatives.

Those same representatives went on to say that customers who have made efforts to pay over the winter or have worked out a payment arrangement with Minnesota Energy Resources shouldn’t worry. But customers with past-due balances who haven’t worked out payment arrangements should immediately take steps to pay the bill in full or set up a payment arrangement to avoid disconnection.

Customers who owe less than $400 may set up a payment arrangement by calling customer service at 1-800-889-9508 to use the interactive voice response system, or by visiting the company Web site to make a payment or set up arrangements: www.minnesotaenergyresources.com.

Customers with unpaid balances of $400 or more and customers with extenuating circumstances must call the 24-hour customer service line and speak with a representative.

Low-income customers should also contact local county agencies for assistance that might prevent or postpone disconnection.

Minnesota Energy Resources representatives went on to say that the company offers a wide variety of payment options – online, over the phone, at local paystations and, of course, through the mail.
