Rogers to Leave Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, Evans Named Successor

CHICAGO, IL – Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (NYSE: TEG) today announced that Desiree Rogers, president of Peoples Gas Light & Coke Company and North Shore Gas Company, will leave Integrys at the end of this month to become President, Social Network for Allstate Financial, a new business unit of the Allstate Corporation, focused on building a social network to harness the experience of consumers through interactive communities. Willard (Will) Evans, Jr., will succeed Rogers. Evans serves as vice president of Gas Engineering for the Integrys Gas Group and has been with the natural-gas distribution company for nearly 34 years.

Larry Borgard, president and chief operating officer for the Integrys Gas Group that oversees Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, praised Rogers for her contributions to the company.

“Desiree has led efforts to transform field operations and improve service and operational efficiencies at Peoples and North Shore and has seen the utilities through the most difficult post-merger challenges,” Borgard said. “Her insights into the legislative and regulatory processes, along with her community leadership, have served us well. Desiree will be hard to replace.”

“It has been a remarkable experience working with dedicated professionals at Peoples and North Shore Gas to lead innovative change that resulted in a dynamic organization focused on customers and responsive to regulators and the government,” said Rogers. “I am confident that the two Illinois utilities are well positioned for continued success. I am ready for new challenges and look forward to the opportunity ahead.”

Rogers has been president of both Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas since 2004, first with Peoples Energy Corporation and most recently with Integrys Energy Group, the holding company that was formed with the merger of WPS Resources Corporation and Peoples Energy Corporation in February 2007.

In this role, Rogers has served as a member of the Integrys senior leadership team, providing strategic insight into merger-related integration plans and activities. She has also retained direct responsibility for the delivery of natural gas to one million customers across 54 communities and the city of Chicago.

Rogers joined the former Peoples Energy Corporation in 1997 and enjoyed a number of challenging assignments, including the overall restructuring of critical business functions to meet financial targets while increasing customer satisfaction.

Rogers currently serves on two corporate boards: Equity Residential, a $15 billion residential REIT, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. She also sits on the Museum of Science and Industry and Northwestern Memorial Foundation boards and was recently elected to the board of The Polk Foundation.

Rogers was the first female and first African American president of Peoples and North Shore. She has been frequently acknowledged for her business and civic leadership, including being named one of the 50 most powerful African American women in business. Throughout her career, she has been featured as an industry spokesperson and overall business leader in national and local media including the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, and major Chicago broadcast news programs.

Will Evans brings a valuable background in both engineering and management to his new role.

“Will’s background brings a solid combination of technical expertise and leadership to both companies,” said Borgard. “He is respected within the company, the community and his profession.”

Evans began his career with Peoples as an engineering intern in 1974 and worked summers until joining the company full-time in 1977. He has served as vice-president of Information Technology Services, vice-president of PGL Operations and vice president of Gas Supply and Engineering.

Evans holds two degrees from Northwestern University: an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Management. He is a member of the American Gas Association’s Security, Integrity and Reliability committee and is active in the community with many organizations, including the FBI Citizens Academy, Chicago Commons, the Northwestern Club of Chicago, and the American Association of Blacks in Energy.
