Wisconsin Public Service Files with PSCW for Electric Fuel Cost Refund to Customers

Green Bay, WI - Yesterday, Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPS), a subsidiary of Integrys Energy Group (NYSE: TEG), filed a request with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to make a refund of almost $1.3 million to Wisconsin electric retail customers for an additional over-recovery of 2010 fuel and purchased power costs. This is in addition to the refund for lower fuel and purchased power costs in 2010 currently being credited to customers' bills from January through December 2011. The additional refund to each customer will be based on actual use for the month of March and would amount to about $0.95 for the typical residential customer using 630 kilowatt-hours of electricity monthly.

If approved, most customers will see portions of the refund on March and April 2011 bills. "These refunds are a result of our normal rate case process for fuel," said WPS Manager of Electric Fuel Cost Recovery, John Guntlisbergen. "In each rate case, we forecast our expected fuel and purchased power costs for the year and a "window" is established for variances. If we fall outside the window, we either file for a refund to customers because costs were less than expected, or file for a surcharge because costs exceeded expectations."

"The continued lower prices in the natural gas market and lower market prices for electric power in 2010 were the primary factors in creating these refund opportunities."
