Minnesota Energy Resources Donates to Charities across the State of Minnesota

Rosemount, MN – Minnesota Energy Resources, a subsidiary of Integrys Energy Group (NYSE:TEG), serving 165 communities throughout the state of Minnesota made donations totaling more than $94,000 in 2012 to charitable organizations, associations and worthwhile causes that requested financial assistance.

The groups represented community and neighborhood development, arts and culture, education, human services and health, along with care for the environment. These contributions are presented by Minnesota Energy Resources and the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, a private charitable foundation supporting Minnesota Energy Resources and other subsidiaries of their parent company, Integrys Energy Group. The Foundation is funded by shareholders of the corporation and NOT by utility customers.

"We're extremely pleased to help out financially or simply lend a hand to efforts that improve the quality of life for everyone," said Jeff Larson, Senior External Affairs Manager for Minnesota Energy Resources.

The company provided gifts to more than 150 qualifying agencies. As examples, the funding was provided to the Old School Arts Center in Sandstone to rebuild its external entryway. Now, the beauty of the artistic experience will start at the door of the center. The Headwaters Science Center in Bemidji won the top prize in Minnesota Energy's "It's Worth the Energy" contest, and the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department received a grant to assist in updating its fire hall. Other recipients include the Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, the YMCA of Rochester and the Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency. For a complete online list of recipients, visit
