North Shore Gas Offers Winter Relief

Double Rebates Available to Customers for Energy-Saving Products

Waukegan, IL – North Shore Gas is offering relief from this record breaking winter by offering double rebates on energy-saving equipment offered through its Home Energy Rebate Program. Furnaces, boilers and water heaters have taken a beating this winter. In addition to working overtime, older appliances can use up to 16% more energy than new high efficiency models. Replacing a furnace or boiler with a new 97% efficient model can result in about $94 off an annual heating bill. Now through April 30, customers can receive double rebates on the purchase and installation of qualifying high-efficiency furnaces, boilers and water heaters for additional savings up to $1,600.

Customers also can have free energy-saving products, including showerheads, faucet aerators, pipe insulation, programmable thermostats and compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) installed in their homes through the Home Energy Jumpstart Program. As an added bonus, customers who participate in the Home Energy Jumpstart Program may be eligible to receive an additional $250 rebate, on top of the double rebate, when they install a qualifying furnace, boiler or water heater. To receive the extra $250 rebate, customers must have the qualifying products installed within 30 days of the Jumpstart appointment.

The Home Energy Jumpstart Program is available to owners of single-family homes, two-flats and individually-metered condos and townhomes. Renters are also eligible, with permission from their landlord.
