Michigan Gas Utilities and The Salvation Army Begin Energy Partnership

MGU will contribute an additional $0.50 for each dollar donated to the new program

Monroe, MI – Michigan Gas Utilities (MGU), a subsidiary of Integrys Energy Group (NYSE: TEG), and the Salvation Army have joined efforts under the program name "Share the Warmth"to help MGU customers with heating bills this winter.

If you would like to help a neighbor, family member, or friend stay warm this winter; please look inside your MGU December gas bill for a way to complete that thought. Another avenue of help would be to go online at www.michigangasutilities.com to determine how you can help others that are less fortunate this heating season. MGU will match 50-cents for each dollar donated under this program.

"We’re quite impressed with Salvation Army’s system to track customer requests along with their format to educate customers on energy conservation and household budgets," said Paul Livernois, MGU’s External Affairs Manager. MGU serves over 165,000 customers in 12-counties across the state and Salvation Army has offices in (or services available) in each. "It’s a great fit for our system and equally as impressive is the communication and coordination efforts of this agency to protect against utility shut-offs," Livernois added.

"We will periodically provide customer communication in our billing which will promote Salvation Army’s energy assistance services, and we look forward to this organization being MGU’s long term energy assistance partner," Livernois said.

"Michigan Gas Utilities is encouraging its employees and customers to provide a helpful hand to those in need, within their communities. We all want this economy to improve, yet we all realize that recovery could be a while out," Livernois mentioned. "Also, let’s remember our elderly neighbors and family members as this winter turns colder. It's a good idea to check in with them on occasion, to make sure everyone is fine."
