Rosemount, MN - Online voting is now open to determine what community groups will receive the Minnesota Energy Resources 'It's Worth the Energy' grant opportunity monies. Worth up to $3,000, the grant opportunities are for non-profits located and operating in the Minnesota Energy Resources' service area.
Organizations were invited to submit project proposals outlining how they would use the grant money to improve their community in one of three areas: Environment, Community or Human Services.
The three finalist organizations participating are:
The supporters of each organization will determine the winner by going online to Minnesota Energy Resources' Facebook page, 'like' it, learn more about what each group will do with the grant money and vote for the group they feel is most deserving.
Followers of Minnesota Energy Resources are allowed one vote per day September 3 through October 1. All three finalists will receive a grant; first place will receive $3,000; second, $2,000; and third, $1,000.
Winners will be announced on Minnesota Energy Resources' Facebook page on October 2, 2013.
Through the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, Minnesota Energy Resources actively supports improvements in the quality of life in the communities throughout the utility's service area.
Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, Inc. is a private, charitable foundation, supported by Minnesota Energy Resources and other sister companies of Wisconsin Public Service Corporation. Contributions are made by Minnesota Energy Resources on behalf of the foundation to charities and organizations needing financial assistance.
The Foundation, incorporated in 1964, is funded by stockholders of the corporation and NOT by natural gas customers.
